Vladimir Putin with a Proposal for the US: "It's a Good Idea"

Russia is ready to offer the US cooperation in the field of rare earth elements, Vladimir Putin announced. The Russian leader said that this could also apply to those raw materials located in occupied territories. The dictator also added that he "sees nothing wrong" with the EU's presence in the peace negotiations and stated that it would be a "good idea" for the US and Russia to reduce their defense spending.

Vladimir Putin has expressed Russia's readiness to cooperate with the United States in the field of rare earth metals, Reuters reports.

The Russian leader, during a conversation with Kremlin TV correspondent Pavel Zarubin, also said that a possible agreement between the US and Ukraine on rare earth metals was "none of Russia's business" and "a cause for concern".

Putin also said he saw "nothing wrong" with the European Union's involvement in Russian-American peace talks on Ukraine, but noted that Brussels had previously refused to engage in dialogue with Moscow.

In his opinion, US President Donald Trump approaches the Russian-Ukrainian conflict rationally, not emotionally.

The dictator also added that it would be a "good idea" if Russia and the US agreed to reduce their defense spending by 50 percent. He also encouraged China to join the potential agreement.
